There’s something so comforting about warm baked apples, especially when they’re soft, caramelized, and covered with a little honey and cinnamon.
These Air Fryer Baked Apples are one of my favorite easy desserts because they only need a few simple ingredients and are ready in about 20 minutes. The apples turn tender and naturally sweet, with warm cinnamon and lightly caramelized honey in every bite.
Serve them warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a few chopped walnuts for an easy dessert that feels extra special. I make these all year round whenever I’m craving something sweet and cozy.

Servings: 1
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
For 1 serving:
- 1 medium apple
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 scoop vanilla ice cream, optional
- 4 walnut halves, chopped, optional
Making more? Simply multiply the ingredients by the number of apples you want to prepare.
Instructions
1. Wash and dry the apple thoroughly. Using an apple corer, carefully remove the core from the center of the whole apple. Once the core is removed, cut the apple in half from top to bottom.

2. Cut a very thin slice from the rounded bottom of each apple half so they can sit upright without tipping over. Be careful not to cut too deeply. You only need enough to create a flat surface.
3. Place the apple halves cut-side up in the air fryer basket. You can line the basket with air fryer-safe parchment paper for easier cleanup if desired. Drizzle the honey evenly over both apple halves, making sure a little settles into the center, then sprinkle with cinnamon.

4. Air fry at 350°F (180°C) for about 15 minutes, or until the apples are tender and lightly caramelized on top. Start checking them after about 12 minutes, especially if your apples are small. Larger apples may need a few extra minutes.

5. Carefully remove the baked apples from the air fryer and serve them while they’re still warm. Top with chopped walnuts and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, letting the ice cream melt slightly over the warm cinnamon-honey apples.

These baked apples are best served warm. And if you’re making them for more than one person, definitely make extra. They disappear quickly!

Make It Your Own
One of the things I love most about this recipe is how easy it is to change depending on what you have at home.
You can replace the honey with agave syrup or maple syrup for a slightly different flavor. If vanilla ice cream isn’t your favorite, try caramel, cinnamon, or butter pecan instead. For a lighter option, a spoonful of vanilla Greek yogurt would be delicious too.
For extra crunch, swap the walnuts for pecans, almonds, or a little granola.
And you don’t have to stop with apples. Try the same idea with ripe but firm pears for another simple fruit dessert. Pears with honey and cinnamon are absolutely delicious too.
Make it your own, have fun with the toppings, and if you try a combination you love, share it with me!
