Some recipes are worth keeping simply because they make you feel good with very little effort, and this is one of them. I love this citrus turmeric ginger shot because it is simple, bright, warming, and easy to make with ingredients you probably already have at home.

The lemon and orange give it a fresh citrusy flavor, the honey softens everything beautifully, and the turmeric, ginger, and black pepper come together in a way that feels both comforting and energizing.
I usually like to take one about 10 minutes before a meal, ideally in the morning, especially during seasonal changes like fall, winter, spring, or even in summer when your body feels a little off.
I also reach for it when I feel like I might be coming down with something, during more stressful or tiring periods, or after travel and those nights when sleep just was not great.
I like to use it consistently for a couple of weeks, then take a short break before starting again.
I like to use it in cycles of 2 to 4 weeks, then take a short break for about a week before starting again.
It is the kind of quick homemade wellness shot you can mix in minutes, keep in the fridge for a day or two, and shake up whenever you want something strong, fresh, and warming
This recipe makes 4 small shots and takes less than 5 minutes.
How to make Citrus Turmeric Ginger Wellness Shots

Ingredients (Yield 4 small shots 4 small shots):
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger, or a little fresh grated ginger
- 1 pinch black pepper
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- Juice of 1/2 orange
- 1 teaspoon honey, optional but highly recommended for flavor
- 3 tablespoons warm water or coconut water
Instructions ( step-by-step)
1) In a tall, wide glass, add the turmeric powder, ground ginger, and black pepper. Stir the dry ingredients together first so everything is evenly combined.
2) Pour in the warm water or coconut water. Mix very well with a spoon until the powders start to dissolve and the mixture looks smooth.
3) Add the honey and stir again until fully mixed in. This helps balance the bold flavor of the turmeric, ginger, and citrus.

4) Squeeze in the juice of the lemon and the orange.
5) Stir everything very well once more until fully combined.

6) Divide the mixture into 4 small shot glasses and serve right away.
7) If you are not drinking it immediately, pour it into a small bottle or jar and store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Shake well before drinking, since the spices naturally settle at the bottom.

Important Tip
Black pepper is not optional in this recipe. It is essential because it helps increase the body’s absorption of curcumin, the active compound in turmeric. Without it, the benefits of turmeric are much weaker.
Make It Your Own
Add a little more water if the shot tastes too strong.
Stir in a little extra honey if you want it smoother and slightly sweeter.
Use fresh grated ginger for a bolder, fresher flavor.
Swap the water for coconut water if you want a lighter, slightly sweeter taste.
