There is something so refreshing about a creamy smoothie made with frozen fruit, especially when it comes together in less than 5 minutes for a quick breakfast or snack.

This dragon fruit (pitaya) protein smoothie with berries is simple, colorful, naturally sweet, and one of those feel-good recipes you’ll find yourself coming back to again and again. It’s perfect for busy mornings, a quick snack, and easy enough for the whole family to enjoy..
I made it with frozen dragon fruit, frozen banana, blueberries, vanilla protein powder, and almond milk, and it turned out beautifully creamy and vibrant. It is a lovely way to start the day, enjoy as a light snack, or have before or after a workout when you want something fresh, nourishing, and easy to make.

Ingredients
Serves 2
- 1/2 cup frozen dragon fruit (pitaya)
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 scoop (about 30 g) vanilla protein powder, optional
- 1 1/4 cups (300 ml) almond milk, or milk/plant-based drink of choice
Instructions:
1. Pour the almond milk into a tall, wide cup or blending container.
2. Add the frozen dragon fruit, frozen banana, and blueberries.
3. Blend everything with a hand blender or food processor until the fruit starts to break down and the mixture becomes smooth.
4. Add the vanilla protein powder and blend again until the smoothie is creamy, thick, and fully combined.

5. Serve immediately in two glasses and enjoy while fresh and cold.

Refreshing, nourishing, and packed with vitamins.
Make It Your Own
You can easily adjust this smoothie depending on what you have at home. Use regular milk, oat milk, coconut milk, soy milk, or any plant-based drink you like. If you prefer not to use protein powder, you can add a little oat flour instead for extra creaminess and a more filling texture.
For a thicker smoothie, use less milk. For a lighter, more drinkable texture, add a little more milk until it reaches the consistency you like.
