There’s something so comforting about making waffles at home, especially when they’re simple, light, and ready in just a few minutes. These oat waffles are the kind of recipe I love for busy mornings because they feel special without taking much effort at all.

Made with just one egg, oat flour, a little brown sugar, cinnamon, and milk, they turn out soft, satisfying, and delicious. You can keep them fresh and fruity with berries, drizzle them with honey or chocolate, or make them feel like a cozy dessert with fruit and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
They’re perfect for breakfast, a family brunch, an afternoon snack, or even a quick sweet treat to enjoy with everyone at home.

Ingredients:
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons oat flour, or more to taste
- 1 pinch cinnamon, optional
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup lactose-free milk, or any plant-based milk you like
- A few drops of vanilla extract, optional
- Strawberry topping, to serve
- Fresh raspberries, to serve
- Fresh blueberries, to serve
Instructions:
1. Preheat your waffle maker until it is hot and ready to use.
2. In a bowl, beat the egg with the brown sugar and vanilla extract using a fork until the sugar is well dissolved.
3. In a separate bowl, mix the oat flour, baking powder, and cinnamon.
4. Add the dry ingredients little by little to the beaten egg, mixing very well as you go to avoid lumps.
5. Pour in the lactose-free milk, or your favorite plant-based milk, and mix until you get a smooth batter.

6. Pour the batter into the hot waffle maker and cook for about 2 minutes, or until the waffle is golden and cooked through.

7. If your waffle maker makes large waffles, you can cut the waffle in half before serving.
8. Serve with strawberry topping, raspberries, and blueberries, or use any toppings you love.

Fresh, simple, and so satisfying. These oat waffles are the kind of easy recipe you’ll want to make again and again.
Make It Your Own
This recipe is really easy to adjust depending on what you have at home or what you’re craving. You can use lactose-free milk, almond milk, oat milk, or any plant-based drink you like. You can also adjust the sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
For a lighter breakfast, serve the waffles with fresh berries and a little drizzle of honey. For something more indulgent, add fruit, melted chocolate, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. It turns these simple oat waffles into a delicious dessert or a cozy family snack.
Notes
This recipe makes 1 large waffle or 2 smaller waffles, depending on the size of your waffle maker.
You can easily double or triple the recipe if you want to make more.
These waffles are lighter, healthier, and very filling, making them a great option to start the day with energy. They’re ready in about 5 minutes and taste delicious every time.
