Easy melon and prosciutto skewers with fresh mozzarella and balsamic glaze. A simple, elegant appetizer that combines sweet melon, salty prosciutto, and creamy mozzarella with a sweet and tangy finish. Perfect for summer parties, baby showers, birthdays, pool parties, BBQs, and easy entertaining.

These melon and prosciutto skewers are one of my favorite summer appetizers when I want something that looks impressive but takes almost no effort to make. The combination of sweet melon and salty prosciutto creates the perfect sweet-and-savory bite, and it always feels fresh, elegant, and easy to serve.
For this version, I also added fresh mozzarella and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. The mozzarella adds a creamy bite, while the balsamic glaze brings a sweet and tangy finish that pairs beautifully with the melon and prosciutto.
I love serving these for summer gatherings, pool parties, baby showers, birthdays, backyard barbecues, or even as a simple appetizer when friends come over for dinner. They are incredibly easy to assemble, making them a great last-minute recipe that always gets compliments.
The best part is that you only need a handful of ingredients and a few minutes to put everything together. Whether you’re creating a beautiful appetizer platter or looking for a light summer snack, these skewers are always a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
- 7 appetizer skewers
- 1 fresh mozzarella ball, sliced into 7 thick pieces
- 7 slices prosciutto
- 7 generous melon cubes (cantaloupe works especially well)
- Balsamic glaze, for drizzling
Instructions
1. Slice the mozzarella into 7 thick slices. Cut the melon into 7 generous cubes that are large enough to hold securely on the skewers.
2. Take each slice of prosciutto and gently roll it into a loose spiral or ribbon shape. This adds volume and makes the skewers look more elegant.
3. Thread one slice of mozzarella onto each appetizer skewer. Add a rolled slice of prosciutto and finish with a cube of melon. Repeat until all 7 skewers are assembled.

4. Place the skewers on a serving platter or large plate. Drizzle generously with balsamic glaze just before serving.
5. If desired, add fresh basil leaves to the skewers or scatter them around the platter for extra color and a fresh Mediterranean touch.

Make It Your Own
You can easily make these skewers your own depending on what you have at home or how you want to serve them.
Mini mozzarella balls work beautifully instead of sliced mozzarella and make the skewers even easier to assemble. You can also try honeydew melon for a slightly different flavor, add fresh basil for a fresh Mediterranean touch, or arrange the skewers on a charcuterie board for a more elegant appetizer spread.
For a simple savory finish, add a little freshly cracked black pepper before serving.
